Dr David Hacker, Consultant Neuropsychologist Medico-Legal expert is based in Birmingham. Dr Hacker has been with the Medico-Legal Partnership since its inception and works very closely with the legal team on a day to day basis. Dr David Hacker prepares Neuropsychology Medico-Legal reports in Traumatic Brain Injury cases. Dr Hacker Neuropsychologist also prepares reports for mental health review tribunals, including restricted patie Dr Hacker has prepared Medico-Legal reports to provide a Neuropsychologist opinion for the court in both civil and criminal matters. His main focus in his area of expertise as a Medico-Legal expert are: · Neuropsychological assessment · Risk assessment · Cognitive rehabilitation · Cognitive behavioral approaches to mental disorder. Dr Hacker takes on a wide variety of instructions from both Claimant Solicitors and Defendant firms. When assessing clients to form a Neuropsychology opinion, Dr Hacker is happy to provide home visits on a case-by-case basis alongside assessing clients at his usual consulting venue in Edgbaston Birmingham. In addition to his Medico-Legal work, Dr Hacker undertakes: · Occupational Health assessments · Medical Defence Union assessment · Assessments of mental capacity · Parenting assessments · Assessment of fitness to plead and competency to stand trial · Forensic risk assessment · The impact of acquired brain injury on culpability in criminal proceedings and on capacity to parent Dr Hacker has also had assessments for HM Prison Service to determine outcome from group-based offender programmes. Dr Hacker was until September 2024 employed part-time at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham as a Consultant Neuropsychologist and is responsible for acute traumatic brain injury inpatients, including direct work with TBI patients, training of staff and the development of TBI related protocols. Dr Mazibrada Neurologist has also been with the Medico-Legal Partnership since the beginning and is a lead clinician who works very closely with the legal time on a day to day basis. Dr Gordon Mazibrada prepares Neurological Medico-Legal reports in Traumatic Brain injury cases. Dr Mazibrada Neurologist has prepared Medico-Legal reports to provide a Neurologist opinion for the court in both Claimant and Defence matters. His main focus in his area of expertise as a Medico-Legal expert are: · General Neurology · Traumatic Brain Injury · Multiple Sclerosis · Neuroinflammatory Disorders of the Central Nervous System Alongside his main focuses he also has a special interest in: · Multiple Sclerosis · Neuroinflammatory disorders · Research undertaken at The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in London Dr Mazibrada also has extensive experience in the use of disease modifying drugs in Multiple Sclerosis and run MS Specialist Clinics. Dr Tim Hull, Consultant Neuropsychologist Medico-Legal expert is based in Birmingham. Dr Hull is another one of our proud Lead Partners. He works very closely with the legal team on a day to day basis. Dr Tim Hull prepares Neuropsychology Medico-Legal reports in Traumatic Brain Injury cases. Dr Hull has prepared over 500 Medico-Legal reports for the court to provide a Neuropsychological opinion in both Claimant and Defence matters. Alongside appearing in court over 20 times he has extensive Medico-Legal experience as an expert witne Those written for personal injury proceedings have covered the level of disability caused, suitability for rehabilitation and the determination of mental capacity. Those written for the criminal justice system have covered level of functioning and its connection to offending, fitness to plead and stand trial, the connection between past trauma and offending and suitability for parole. He has a particular interest in the overlap between neuropsychology and forensic work and is one of very few neuropsychologists working in this area. Many of the reports Dr Hull has prepared relate to cases where clients have sustained a Traumatic Brain Injury as a result of an accident or clinical negligence.
