Mr MA Polytrauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon from Medico-Legal and Neuroscience Partnership. I am an orthopaedic surgeon who works with the legal team to produce medico-legal reports and provide an expert witness opinion. I undertook my orthopaedic training on the South West Thames rotation in London which was where I was appointed as a Consultant trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire in 2014. I am also based in Birmingham.
I commenced my medico-legal work in 2015 and have developed plenty of experience in preparing medico-legal reports after assessing clients and reviewing their medical record history. I annually produce 300 medico-legal reports with a Claimant and Defendant ratio of 50:50. When assessing clients I assess them at my consulting venue in Birmingham but I am happy to visit other consulting venues across the country. I am happy to report on Clinical Negligence cases and will also happily take on Legal Aid instructions depending on the case. I assess on children in the age range 3 – 16 dependent on injury pattern.
My main areas of focus as an expert in trauma and orthopaedics are the following:
- Polytrauma
- Pelvic and acetabular fractures
- Periarticular fractures (Knee, Ankle, Wrist, Shoulder and Elbow)
- Complex foot trauma
- Open fractures
- Rib fractures
- Single system orthopaedic trauma
